My 10-minute routine
- 5 minutes: duplicates and near-duplicates
- 3 minutes: bursts and quick retries
- 2 minutes: last check and delete
A messy camera roll does not mean you are disorganized. It usually just means you take a lot of real-life photos and never have time to sort them.
What helped me most was a short, forgiving routine. A quick pass each week is better than waiting for the perfect deep clean.
Step 1
Open First Pick and begin with grouped duplicates and near-duplicates. This gives you momentum fast.
Step 2
Pick favorites from burst or repeated sets, then mark the rest for cleanup.
Step 3
Once review is done, bulk delete marked photos and move on. Done is good enough.
I start with obvious repeats because they are low-risk and high-impact.
I leave emotional one-off photos for another day. That keeps this routine kind to my attention span.
It will not auto-delete your photos behind your back.
It will not send your library to a remote server. Grouping runs on-device.
First Pick is built for exactly this workflow: group similar photos, pick favorites fast, and bulk delete only when you are ready. No pressure to get every decision perfect.
